Midrand Lutheran Church is a vibrant community within the family of the Northeastern Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Africa (NELCSA) as part of the Central Circuit, with our church situated in Carlswald, Midrand.
Our regular Sunday Services begin at 08:00 AM, with Holy Communion on every last Sunday of the month.
We warmly invite you to join our diverse congregation in worship, fellowship, and service; where faith and love intersect across all ages. Our church offers a welcoming atmosphere for everyone, encouraging spiritual growth and connection among members as well as visitors. The season after Pentecost is often referred to as the “ordinary” season of the Church. Yet there is nothing ordinary about the life to which Christ calls His people. After the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the Church was not established merely to gather for worship, but to become a visible sign of God’s kingdom in the world. Empowered by the Spirit, believers were sent to live lives that reflected the love, holiness, and unity of Christ. The account of Pentecost in Acts 2 presents a remarkable picture of unity amid diversity. People from different nations, languages, and cultures heard the gospel proclaimed in their own tongues. Rather than erasing their differences, the Holy Spirit united them in the confession that Jesus Christ is Lord. From the very beginning, the Church was intended to be a community where diversity is embraced, yet all are bound together in Christ.
We are beloved children of God, embraced by His unconditional love. In our congregation, we are accepted just as we are, celebrating and honouring our differences. We live out the spirit of Ubuntu—showing compassion, empathy, solidarity, and a deep sense of responsibility toward one another, striving to be a blessing to others as we are blessed ourselves.
As Lutherans, we seek to understand and share the reasons behind our faith, both in our worship and in our daily lives. We trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and we are grateful for the opportunity to repent, confess, and grow as we journey together in faith.
